A Few Thoughts...

I know it's cliched to complain about a type of music being flooded with bands that all sound the same, but I'm extremely tired of the "metalcore" genre. Every week I get bombarded with CDs that sound exactly the same. Swedish influenced riff, breakdown, Swedish riff, singing chorus, repeat.

There are a few CDs that I rock out to when I start feeling down about the unoriginality of all the bands currently releasing music, and I just aquired a new one. At the Drive-in just released a new retrospective through Fearless Records called This Station is Non-Operational. They were an incredible band. Other albums I rock when I feel this way:
At the Drive-in Relationship of Command
Circle Takes the Square As the Roots Undo
Death by Stereo (any of their discs)
Far Water & Solutions
Glassjaw Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence and Worship and Tribute
and a few other, non-metal things (though these weren't all metal).

Tonight after some barbeque I'll work on CD reviews and making this thing look nicer.

So much in so little time...

I figured I should have one of these random blogs to talk about other things than the show, so, here it is. That's the basics, so, yup.
